using streamtuner--shoutcast

Greetings all-
I have just discovered streamtuner and am enjoying listening to the Old Time Radio Broadcasts.
I thought it would be great to save them to a cd so I could listen to them in the car, but after saving them to the hard drive, I can't seem to get them to copy over to a disk using Bashburn.
Is this because they are encrypted? and cannot be copied?

Searching around this forum for answers I found a great tip....instead of using streamtuner, someone suggested using mpg123 and the url.... slick! only I have to be root to do it....
