Using shutdown as user

It is not possible to use shutdown as user.
Is there any way to get around this?
I would like to be able to shut my machine down from fluxbox (i have no dm).

Thank you very much:)

Either setup sudo or setup your /etc/shutdown.allow file..

man shutdown
