Using set command Debian

Hi there,

I'm using Debian Woody distrobution and since there is no 'setenv' command, how would a debian user edit their environment variables? There is a user named 'twantrd' and when I run 'set' it displays that "MAIL=/var/mail/root" which I don't want. I want it to be "MAIL=/var/mail/twantrd". How would you do that? Doing 'man set' shows no manual entry as well. In addition, user twantrd runs the command 'set' and it displays:

"LOGNAME=root". In fact, all the users on the system have that same LOGNAME variable? Should that be a concern? THank you so much!

-twantrd

EDIT: Problem solved. Nevermind, thanks anywayz!
