Using "Screen" for restoring database

Hi guys,

I tried to run

screen mysql -uroot -p < backup.sql

so that I can let the restoration proceed and shutdown my laptop (@ work) and when i reach home I can see the progress.. or if possible, its completion.

Problem is when I run it this way, I will be prompt:
Must be directly connected to a terminal.

using screen to just connect mysql is of no issue.

Is there a known limitation that I can't do restore using this way?

$ mysql -uroot -p < backup.sql
<ctrl+a+d> # detaches

$ screen -r # reattaches to current screen.

man screen for more options
