Use rpm for testing


Hi i have downloaded the latest kde rpm packages for my distro. I want to install them using rpm
(rpm -U * )

But before i try this i want to check if it would be any problem with that.. So do u know if i can test them before the command is executed? I need sth like rpm -U --test *

well that IS the right command... did you even look at the manpage?

Yes i have looked it its the --test parameter.. I was just asking to find out if some guys know anyhting more than that

more like what? --test runs a test, can't see there's any more to say than that.

I have removed the devel packages and now the failed dependencies are smaller than before...


akroneiro:/home/alaios/Desktop/kde3.5.1 # rpm -U *
error: Failed dependencies:
libruby.so.1.8 is needed by kdebindings3-ruby-3.5.1-5
libpoppler-qt.so.0 is needed by kdegraphics3-3.5.1-6
povray is needed by kdegraphics3-3D-3.5.1-6
tetex is needed by kdegraphics3-tex-3.5.1-6
perl-IO-Socket-SSL is needed by kdenetwork3-IRC-3.5.1-4

Now i need the packages above.. Using yast couldnt find ajyone of the packages above!!! I cant understand why

Hi do u know in which file suse keeps my yast-sources? I want to copu and paste them here
