I have a ZyXEL Omni.net USB connected to my computer through a USB Hub. It is, yes, you know, a winmodem. So it doesn't work. What can I do? Don't forget, it's USB!
first, i stay away from usb as much as possible.. second, its a external winmodem which isn't supported... there probably isn't much you can do except use it in windows.
Hey, what's the name of the modem??
I have an incredibly fast external Serial modem, I can surft on a phone like at about 20k/sec. Yeah, that's fast!! it's on the v.90 lines, it really works!!
It's really cheap modem like 20 dollars, 56K Best Date Modem. Fully compatible with linux, and don't need to worry about USB.
Which kernel are you running?
If you are lower than 2.4.15, your usb is highly likely not to work properly, it's a really new thing so it takes a little while to perfection,
