USB Powered ZIP250 possible?


Has anybody successfully used a USB-POWERED iomega zip drive within linux?

No, but my 250Mb USB drive works with stock RedHat 7.2 when plugged into a PCMCIA slot. AMAZING! Even more so, the Iomegaware tools allocate different drive letters when you change disks, just like windoze!

Yes I have successfully used the USB Powered 250... I have it running right now. The only weird thing I had with it, was I could never get it to read preformated ZIPs as MSDOS or VFAT.. I had to reformat them with ext2 - then they worked fine.

I also have a USB zip 250, same problem as above, and plus, Linux is very slow at copying files to or from the Zip drive, but i think there is a trick to fix this....
