usb log msgs

My system log file (/var/log/messages) seems to consist mostly of messages like:

Nov 7 04:02:27 mymachine kernel: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 1546

in fact there is one such message every 5 seconds. Is this normal? One of the reasons I ask is that I have recently experienced some random freezing of the keyboard and mouse, accompanied by flashing CapsLock and ScrollLock lights on the keyboard.

I'm running RH Professional Workstattion/Enterpise Workstation v3 on a Dell Dimension 4100.
