USB 2 PCI Card

Hi,

Got 2 questions, when i build a linux kernel (2.6) do i need any special options enabled for a usb 2.0 pci card , other than the standard usb stuff?

Secondly, should the said USB PCI card work in a old P3 500mhz PC ok, or are any special bios features required?

Thanks
Jack

Yes, you need to enable EHCI in your kernel.

The Enhanced Host Controller Interface (EHCI) is standard for USB 2.0
"high speed" (480 Mbit/sec, 60 Mbyte/sec) host controller hardware.

That depends upon the motherboard. You can look in your BIOS, or you
can search <Linux> Google, or LQ Search.

Post the exact model and manufacturer of the board and I'll help search.

There's also a chance that your motherboard won't support this controller.
