Upgrade Kernel

I Upgraded my kernel a lot of times, but the last twice I backed to my last good kernel because the sound is off, I can't heard anything, and the Sound Card is OK. What is the problem? what I need to do?

Thanks

First make sure you have selected the correct sound card (I imagine you probably did) and did you compile is as a module? If its a module make sure to modprobe it, but to be ssure try compiling it into the kernel and login as root to test the device. Does logging into the GUI give any errors, and check your /var/log logs to see if you can spot the error.

Hi, I have Redhat 8.0, I did't compile is as a module, I just Downloaded the packages and then Auto Install. How can I recompile or what do you think?

Thanks

obviously either the kernel module for your sound card isn' being loaded, or isn't supported. What kind of card do you have? Also go through you logs especiall syslog and read through it, it may let you know what is going on..

I thought RH did a sound check during installation, doesn't it?
