Question updating RH9 with command line and without GUI

I recently install RH9 without any GUI for security purpose
so far I am able to configure the system with command line only. The problem I am having is, when I run up2date it will only register me on RHN, but will not download any update packages.
Please help.

Have you thought about Apt4RPM?

You can just issue an apt-get dist-upgrade, install <package_name>, etc. It will also resolve any dependencies.

To register a Red Hat system do:

To bring a Red Hat system up to date on patches:

up2date -u

To see your up2date configuration (and edit if needed)

up2date --configure

To force a package to be updated even though the up2date configuration says not to:

u2date --force packagename

To update a single package

up2date packagename
