"Unsupported Hardware" issue, Catalyst Control Center conflict?, Voyager 12.04

Hi:

I installed Voyager ( San Disk 128 GB HDD) on my new desktop that I just finished building last week.
My new build runs great just have this I (think) driver problem.
http://distrowatch.com/table.php?distribution=voyager

Not sure if the Catalyst Control Center is causing conflict with the driver that I did install and I'm not sure how to tell:-

I installed the AMD/ATI Catalyst™ Proprietary Display Driver - Linux x86 & Linux x86_64 driver for the MSI Twin Frozr 7850 graphics card.
http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...eon_linux.aspx
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127663

BTW this driver works fine for Black Opal/Ubuntu 12.04 on my 120 GB HDD Hitachi-

My DE has a green box with the "Unsupported Hardware" message on the lower right of the screen.

Please, how do I fix this?

Common problem with the AMD drivers. Try if that issue is fixed with the 13.8 Beta drivers (available from the same site).

Tip for the future: People trying to help you with hardware problems usually are not interested in buying that hardware, so better link to the manufacturer's site about that product instead of a random vendor's site.

Thanks for the reply TobiSGD
I'll un-install the 13.4 driver and install the 13.8 Beta that you advise-
See if that helps-
Now I have to look through my notes and find the right command to remove that old driver-

I think this is the right manufacturer for that graphics card-

Just run the installer again with the --uninstall option.

That is the manufacturer of the video chip, not the graphics card. This is the correct link: http://www.msi.com/product/vga/R7850...r-2GD5-OC.html

Haven't made it to the installer yet because the zip is giving me an issue I've never encountered before.
I tried to extract both of those zip file's to run the .run but have an error.

Code:
Either this is a zipfile or it constitutes on disk of multi-part

You have tried to unpack a file with the suffix .part, which is usually generated by browsers to indicate that this file is yet not fully downloaded.

I had to run:
Code:
sudo sh /usr/share/ati/fglrx-uninstall.sh
And than had to run this cmd because the installer didn't provide me with the option to use the "--uninstall option"(oddly so)
Code:
sudo apt-get remove --purge fglrx fglrx_* fglrx-amdcccle* fglrx-dev
Rebooted and now this distro and it's graphical environment is correct; instead of everything super-imposed-

The 'unsupported hardware' error no long appears on the DE-

Thanks for reminding me about the manufacturer's website.
I see where the correct site for hardware is more efficient:-

Thank You for your help:
TobiSGD
