Unmounting a partition

Hey guys,

I have Ubuntu 8.04 on my computer and i want to get windows on it (dual boot of course). So i downloaded Gparted to partition. My main partation (around 77GB) is the / directory (which i want to resize.) To resize it i have to unmount it, which it wont let me do. It says:

The partition could not be unmounted from the following mountpoints:

/

Most likely other partitions are also mounted on these mountpoints. You are advised to unmount them manually.

The only other partition i have are

/dev/sda1 - with no partitions with it

/dev/sda2
/dev/sda5 - which is a swap partition

Can someone help?
Thanks
Chris

I would advise you use the ubuntu 8.04 livecd which has gparted on it.

Use a boot CD not the system itself.
