Angry unlock my cdrecorder!!

Hello everybody!

When I try to burn a CD and cdrecord exits with some kind of error, I cannot open my cd-drive. eject /cdrecorder tells me that it cannot eject. previous error: i/o-error

Well, how do I reset/unlock/do anything to my cd-drive that it will eject the CD without me having to reboot the whole system?

Thanx, Steave.

If a program is using the cd it will not usually eject, if you are in a terminal and the current folder is on the cd it will not eject

I'm fairly sure that there's no program using the cd-recorder, since cdrecord finished with an error code. Furthermore, the disk isn't mounted, so nothing could be disiplaying the content...

On exiting cdrecord says something about ...scsicmd: prevent/allow opening...

or the alike. I guess this has something to do with it.

Is there a way I could find out if an application uses the cdrecorder?

Even if so, is there a way to just eject the thing, no matter what? like eject --force ?
