University of Minnesota banned from kernel development

I wonder who in the charge at the University thought this was a good idea.

Maybe it wasn't such a bad idea in general. It certainly pointed to an issue.

As pointed out this was a human experiment. The University has contributed lots of patches so I would assume there was some level of developed trust between the University and the kernel developers. Deliberately submitting bad code and trying to determine how long it would take for the developers to find it in the name of security would piss me off too.
