United Linux? Will it sucdeed?
 
Greetings fellow members,

It has come ot my attention of the most recent upcoming disttribution "United Linux" With Redhat becoming more and more dominant of the Linux distribution world where does UL stand in all this? For those that have taken a look at there website and read and listen to what they had to say what are your thoughts on it? what do you think their future looks like?

he he he, yeah everyone who wrote a book on there is probably not going to retype it. A summary of mine:
I don't like the idea.

Quite frankly, I don't care if they succeed or not. The only thing I care about is whether such a venture will impact the choices that I now have in building/buying/using Linux.

Supposedly, their target is the server-space sector where currently RedHat is leading.

As I can see, the distro with fastest growth rate is now Mandrake, not RH.

why not? the companies might emalgamate and chop 3/4s of their work force, but sure. It'll work.
