uninstalling linux

So... have no fear I don't mean I'm uninstalling linux from my main system (I <3 linux) but I do have a computer that is reaching the end of it's days and I can use all the gigs I can get out of it so I would like to uninstall linux from it and merge the partitions. Now oddly enough, I've installed a lot of Linux distros (everything from Slackware to Gentoo) but I am pretty clueless as to how I would go about uninstalling them. Now for a quit overview of things... so the system is running Ubuntu and Windows XP. I have 3 partitions with Linux (swap, root, and another for files), 2 for Windows, and I load this all up with GRUB. Now here is my main concern... I don't want to just wipe the linux partitions because I'm worried about how GRUB will react to it, last thing I want is to lose Windows. So how do I go about cleanly uninstalling Linux and being able to boot Windows?

Umm ... why bother 'uninstalling'? Use any live CD or install-CD and delete
the partitions you don't want :}

Cheers,

You can get rid of the grub boot loader and restore the original Windows boot loader with the following command in a Windows command window.
Code:
fdisk /mbr
Boot Windows. Run a command window. Enter the fdisk /mbr command. Reboot.

More information can be found here.

Once the MBR is restored it will only boot Windows. You can then use the Windows disk administrator to change the Linux partitions to Windows partitions.
