uninstalling linux??

i have 2 HDDs..a 20 GB one(on which RH9 is installed) and a 40 GB one(on which win98 is)..

now, i am buying a separate comp for myself and would like to remove the 20 GB HDD and add it to the new comp.. now, do i just plug out the HDD and attach it to the new comp or do i need to "uninstall" linux or do anything of that sort??

i would be very thankful for any help

cheers,
ganesh

Yes you have to format that disk because it will say that IDE Controller Failure.

You can use Disk druid (found on the linux CD itself)to look at ur partitions and then delete the linux ones...use the 'd' to delete and after deletion of all linux partitions, use 'w' to write. Then use a Windows boot disk and issue the command - fdisk /mbr

Probably neither Linux nor Windows 98 will work on your new pc. Therefore you must re-install all operating systems.

i am very much fully well aware that i DO have to install linux on the new pc...

what my concern was whether this old comp will stop working once i remove this 20 GB HDD as grub is installed on it(i think..i had accepted the default option that comes when installing linux..)that was what i wanted to clear my doubt about...any ideas?

If win98 was install on the second HDD, it probally also installed the win bootloader, so simply just try to set it as the first HDD and see if the old PC boots up.
