Uninstall FC3/Grub with no floppy

I installed FC3 on my laptop and enjoyed it until I realized my wireless card was completly useless and there was no way that I could get drivers for it. That pretty much kills the purpose of my laptop. So, therefore, I'm putting windows on it... or trying. You see, I can't get rid of FC3 and Grub. I have no floppy disk, and I can't seem to get my USB key to boot correctly.

Any tuts, or suggestions?

If you want to completely remove grub and FC3 and do a fresh install of Windows, do this (as root):

dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/hda

and leave it for a few seconds. That should overwrite the MBR and first sectors of your hard drive (and therefore take out GRUB), and Windows should install OK after that (assuming you can boot from your Windows CD).
Bear in mind that this will take out the partition tables too, so all the data on the drive will be gone.

Thanks Dave, I really appreciate that. It solved the problem that has taken me weeks to fix!
