uninstall cups-1.1.17

I installed cups-1.1.20 a little while ago to fix some problems that are still occurring, and recently I have been trying to make sure the install was good. I noticed that cups-1.1.17 is still installed and when I tried to uninstall using rpm -e I got some dependencie issue, but when I try to instlal cups-libs-1.1.20 it says it will conflict with cups-1.1.17.

Has anyone run into this, and how have you uninstalled 1.1.17 so that 1.1.20 can be installed?

Thanks

rpm -e --force --nodeps cups-1.1.1.7

rpm -ivh cups-2.1.1.1 or whatever.

also, rpm -Uvh will update the existing packages with what you are installing.

rpm -Uvh shouldnt create dependency problems.

rpm -Uvh cups-2.2.11. or whatever newer package is.
