unfocused desktop keep program open (non minimized) @kde-neon

Hi,
I screen record lectures broadcasted over zoom.
I would like to screen record on one virtual desktop and work on another desktop during the recording.

I have tried it: Jack takes the sound from zoom directly to the screen recorder and that works good even if I work on the other virtual desktop. The video on the other hand does not work good.

When i switch from the desktop that records to the one that I want to work on, the recorder starts to record just the desktop wallpaper.
To me it seems as if the windows get minimized on the screen recording desktop when moving to the work desktop.

The best would be if it were possible to make a window persistent open (i.e. not minimized) on the recording desktop even if I move to the work desktop, is this possible?

Alternatively is it possible to extend my desktop into virtual space and put the window there, open but out of sight?
or perhaps it is possible to create a virtual monitor that I can put the screen recorder on?

Or some other suggestion to let me work and screen capture at the same time?

@Kde-neon
plasma version 5.21.4
Kde framework version 5.81.0

I'm not sure I understand correctly, but it is possible to make a window "sticky", i.e. it's always on the active desktop. It "moves with you" so to speak.

I think that would also be possible.

I don't use KDE myself, but I'm pretty sure it has a GUI for both options.

I want to record and work at the same time.
The problem is that I do not have enough screen real estate.
As the setup is now I can not do the two at the same time.
I want to do the recording somewhere else since it is self contained and do not need user input.
I do not know if I understand you correctly but would "sticky" window mean that the screen recording will be on the desktop I want to work at?

I would like best to be able to record on an other virtual desktop. The recording would be protected against me accidentally breaking it.

Normally I think the virtual desktops gets killed when you are not there because it would strain the graphics card to render all the pixels of the virtual desktops simultaneously.
I would have expected the recording from my screen recorder on the inactive desktop to be black.
When I got wallpaper then I think it means that the graphics card is rendering the desktop. Puzzling.
Does someone know how it works?

My graphics card could support an other 1080p desktop that render the video. So physical processing power would not be a problem.

I will look in to than as a possibility.

Yes, but that wouldn't really help with screen real estate problems, since it has to remain visible, and therefore take up space.

True.

Not true.

Not exactly, but it's entirely possible that it "falls back" to showing your desktop background, without actually constantly rendering things.

Yes, do.
