undisclosed-recipients, how to make e-mail say this for from?

I get e-mails on occasion that has the return address hidden with undisclosed-recipients instead of the real address. How do I do that? I am NOT a spammer I just try to keep it from being spread to everybody so I won't get spam.

I use KDE and Kmail, at the moment. I would like to convert to Mozilla-mail but can't figure out how to transfer old mail from Kmail to Mozilla. Got a answer to that to while we are here.

Thanks

No ideas uh?

Guess I'm stuck.

Do you reckon you could post the full headers of the e-mail which you have recieved. That'd give us a better idea of what your client was interpreting as an unknown from address :)

Took me a bit to find one. Stupid Kmail search missed it. Here you go.

Code:

Return-Path: <krikorannk@comcast.net>

I put a "this is it" to point to it. How they do that??

Thanks

Hmm, I think this is a case of purely using the BCC field.

1) Compose Message
2) Ignore the "To" field
3) Fill in the address you want to send it to in the "BCC:" field.

That will leave the To: field blank...hopefully.

As you can see form the headers, the sender is using Outlook. I don't know if Kmail will let you do that, I know Mozilla (and Mozilla Thunderbird) let you just use the BCC field; I use it all the time.

:)

Steve

Edit: e-mail me (using the button below) your e-mail address, I'll try and send you an e-mail like this to see if it works :)

e-mail sent. Curious now.

I got this when I tried to send one to myself as BCC.

Quote:

You must specify at least one receiver in the To: field.
Guess that didn't work.

Some mailers must allow it... But KMail doesn't seem to :-)

Works in Mozilla though. I sent one to myself as BCC and it says undisclosed recipient.

Now I have got to switch to Mozilla mail. Anybody know how to transfer them over?

lol, well I've sent you an e-mail anyway :P, it should get there as you found out, without a "To:" field.

Good luck with exporting,

Steve

It did. I need to switch to Mozilla now. I hate to loose all my old e-mails though. I also hope it has filters. I love those filters.

Now we know.

Thanks
