understanding linux boot process from source

Earlier once I tried to go through the linux source code to
understand the boot process but gave up.I just could not figue out where to start reading!
This time I'm more determined.
Currently ,I'm trying to understand the functions that are called from start_kernel() from init/main.c
Please help me how to proceed from here.
Is there some detailed documentation for the
functions like
page_address_init();
setup_arch(&command_line);
build_all_zonelists();
trap_init();
.
.
.
etc.

Thanks,
