unconfigure kernel source?


I run m-a prepare and it said I have an unconfigured kernel source. What the heck does that mean ? I thought u just install it.

Hi,

It sounds like the kernel source you have there doesn't have .config file for it to compile against to me.

How did you get the source tree, and are you still using FC3?

sorry I forgot to change it no. I moved to beian cos i heard their kernels under go more testing and it supports more hardware.

I just installed it using apt-get.

2.6.8-11-amd64-k8 result from urname -r

Am running debian sarge 64bit

Hmm, debian you say? In that case I'm not really sure. I'm not that familiar with debian and I've never installed a kernel using apt on any distro.

So as this is obviously debian specific, if the moderators would be so kind as to move this thread to the debian forum....

There should be someone there who can help.
