Unattended Network Installation - Install Locally?

First off I will start by saying that I am new to Linux
, but I believe anything is possible for a newbie with enough effort

I'm working on doing an unattended network installation.

So far, can successfully boot from the network and do the installation, right now it needs me to sit by and do the input ... which is good for now ... I plan on testing one step at a time.

I will be working on a preseed file this afternoon and testing that with the setup I currently have.

What I would like to know is, can I do this in any way that i don't have to keep going out to ubuntu's servers to do the install ... host repositories locally or something along the lines?

You can always set up a local mirror; you might find this article helpful. You might also be interested in this wiki entry about using Debian's Fully Automatic Installer (FAI) with Ubuntu, however from the looks of my quick google search, documentation on doing this is a bit sparse.

Another group in the class is using FAI, so looks like I will have to go with this route.

I will check the guides and see how it goes.

Looks like I'm going to need to add more space to the debian server that is hosting the repositories.
