Unable to turn on SLOB allocation in menu config

I am trying to do a project for an OS class and I need to modify a kernel that uses SLOB. When I brought up the menu config and went to General setup -> Choose SLAB allocator, but it only listed SLAB and SLUB for available allocation schemes. The kernel is Linux-2.6.32

Nevermind this post, I needed to go into init/Kconfig and remove the 'depends EMBEDDED' line under SLOB and this fixed my problem.

Looks like it is dependant on "Expert" - scary thought hey ?.
I don't have a kernel tree that old, but that should activate the option. (just checked, yes, that toggles SLOB).

Just saw your update - better to use this than have to hack the make.
