unable to resize windows partition with YAST

I was running Suse 9 and wanted to resize my windows partition. I had done this successfully once before, and wanted to shrink it down some again. The second time I kept getting a message that the attempt to resize had failed, but would not elaborate. I tried to do this both from the Yast GUI on the hard drive and also from the Suse installation disk. I wish I had more information to give, but I don't know what else to say. I didn't do anything to the windows partition other than remove some programs through windows and then Defragment. I have precious little hard drive space to spare, and if I could free up a couple of meg, I could triple boot.

thanks for the help

I have this same problem using partition magic in windows if i have more then 2 partitions fill. I have windows in c and then linux and then swap then d drive. the thing is, If you try resizing more then one partition fill, you'll have this program now or later. I don't resize my partitions no more. i try to plan it smart and give everyone enuff room. Its something about having a couple partitions and resizing it later that just doesn't work.
When you resize a partition, your moving every other partition under that arround.

You might wanna try and download the first Mandrake disk and use Diskdrake to resize it (start an install and do the partitioning and reboot before you install - unless you wanna do Mandy - its goooood). I've done that before I installed Mandrake on my hardd drive at all (I was using WinXP/Debian Sid/ FreeBSD FYI)
