.

I have the same problem, could anybody help at all.

I see a message :
Running Anaconda
Probing video card: Cirrus Logic GA(?)554xxx?
Probing Monitor: Unable to probe
system hangs here.

I have tried with the text, nofb, noprobe and as many other options as makes sense, also have trawled redhat to no avail.

Found this thread thx to Google, and was much dissapointed to find no answer as yet.

Thanks in advance.

Result (allegedly)

Th answer seems to be here:
http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/Questio...9cd0f9,00.html

Basically HP say that there is a bug in the kernel of RH7.3 and advise to Downgrade to 7.2.

Will post back if this fails me, thanks for watching :)

monitor not detected Proliant 1600

I think you'll find that it's actually NOT the monitor. Try using a serial mouse. Make sure you don't have a ps type mouse connected; I know that sounds nuts. We had the same issue, though, and that solved it. I'm posting this even though the thread is ancient because maybe someone searching the same problem will end up here.

Thanks ! the last thing I expected in my inbox was a mail about a reply to this thread, I'll give this a go, the machine has stood idle for ..... well since I posted, maybe it will be of use at long last!.
