Unable to nfs umount:Device or resource busy

I am trying to unmount an nfs resource that is no longer connected. First my command df -k hangs on mounted nfs which no longer connected and now it appears that I cannot even kill these df -k processes ????

Currently I have few df -k and ls processes that are hanging on this still mounted nfs
When I keep trying to umount /nfs I get resource or device is busy and my commands continue to hang on this disconnected nfs mount...
One thing I don't want to do is reboot..

Thanks for any help

you can try to force the umount with the -f flag..

make sure that there isn't another filesystem mounted on that folder,if so,you must umount the inner one to umount the mentioned folder.
and sure there must be no user working on that folder when you want to umount it,may be even a program in that filesystem working on your system.

I don't know how I got it unmounted but it is ok now..
The df -k's are gone ...
Athough I still think that NFS is a pain sometimes.
