Unable to access Internet or mail

When powering up with Linux, I get the message "THERE WAS AN ERROR CREATING THE CHILD PROCESS FOR THIS TERMINAL"
I posted this on Newbies several months ago but received no replies. I hope this is the correct forum.
I am using Windows XP Pro at the present.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
John

I thought "that's not like LQ". WTF ?
So I checked... .. .

You have only one other thread on this site and it is about "SPL-C ERROR When attempting to print from Linux to Samsung 315 CLP printer"

Your question there seems to have been answered (but you did not post any follow-up, and a follow-up or simple "thanks, that fixed it" would probably have been appreciated).

Perhaps you have forgotten where you have posted ?

I really think you need to read and understand this

Mistakes happen, but the adult way of dealing with them is to admit them, and apologise.

No matter, but you probably should have posted anyway.

I don't consider myself as a "guru", LQ just did that to me automatically. Too many postings I suppose.

Any posts that are helpful, are helpful. Let us just keep it that way
