UI does not get focus

Hi ,

I have Open SuSe11 installed in my system.

when i login to the system as "root" user and launch UI (java), textfield in UI does not get mouse focus.

But now, if i open the terminal "xterm" (mouse right click option), then my textfield in UI get mouse focus.

if i close terminal, again focus to textfield in UI is lost.

can anybody help me in understanding this issue and help as well.

Thanks in advance !

Regards,
csegau

First you are aware that none of the openSUSE 11 series are supported
11.4 went End of Life back in November of 2012

are you using KDE or Gnome or xfce as the desktop manager ?

all of them do things differently

also it is not advisable to login to a DM GUI as root

use your normal user account and use "sudo" or " su -" to launch a program as root
suse defaults to using "sudo"

this could be a byproduct of loging into the desktop manager as root ,bypassing "sudo"
