UDF, mount and file permissions
when as my root user I mount my DVD, all the file ownerships seem to get set back to root:root, such that non-root users may lose access to the files, depending on the file permissions themselves.
I've tried using some of the mount settings that seem like they might help here, but no avail.
For example, as root I mount the DVD:
mount -v /media/cdrom -o uid=me -o suid -o gid=users
mount uses udf as the filesystem (dvd was formatted with mkudffs btw) and says
/dev/sr0 on /media/cdrom type udf (rw,nodev,uid=500,gid=100)
then as a non-root user (me) I touch a file on /media/cdrom or do an mkdir, the file/folder have ownership as me:users and it all looks ok.
But then back as root if I umount then mount the DVD again as before, the ownership of the files created by the non-root user (me) change to root:root
Any ideas out there how I can get the file permissions to not change ?
