Unhappy UDEV takes more time to execute at boot up time. Can anyboby help me to reduce dis tim

Hi,

Udev takes around 30 sec to execute while bootup.I want to reduce this time.

Can anybody tell me how to reduce this time? Please reply asap

I have removed many rules from the rules file, but still there is no time difference in udev execution.I have seen that udevsettle takes time.It takes 15 sec even though timeout is 0.Pleasse help me on this so that I can execute udev also and reduce the udev execution time.

Try to request device uevents in a verbose mode, so that you could have a chance to see where udev "stops".
Code:
udevadm trigger -v

udevd & (starting udev daemon)
udevadm trigger (we want udev to discuss with kernel about devices)
udevadm settle (we will wait till the discussion is over).

The above means that "the discussion" ('udevadm trigger') lasts 15 seconds and you have to wait 15 seconds. Once again: if you replace "udevadm trigger" with "udevadm trigger -v" you should be able to see where udev stops.
