Ok after a little break I'm back and ready to try again!!

Right now when I turn the computer on and select a kernel in gurb it will act like it started booting but does nothing (just a black screen).

Anymore ideas?

Thanks

ok go into bios and set it to no windows os or no OS system this way linux is not asked to run bios because it just is not design to do that. The black screen walk away for 5 minutes come back it may be doing a fsck command on a drive that was not shut down correct. this happen to me with 8.04 usually it would say that it was doing that but not always.
