Ubuntu 7 install
I recently had a problem with Ubuntu 6 sign in and decided to format hard drive and install Ubuntu 7. For the most part the install went as expected until I rebooted. I removed the CD and changed the BIOS back to boot from HDD. As the comp boots up I get get:
Verifying DMI Pool Data....... GRUB Loading stage 1.5. GRUB loading, please wait Error 17 That is as far as I get. I reformatted the drive and installed again and again this is as far as I get. Any suggestions for someone whi is Linux challenged? Thanks, Bear |

I guess I figured it out. It is on older computer and I had to look for the motorboard manual and sat down and read about BIOS while I formatted and loading Ubuntu again. It has a setting: LOAD OPTIMIZED DEFAULTS that returns it to original settings. After I did that, it booted fine. Something to do watching it snow, thanks, Bear
