two questions about soundcard locks
 

1.how to make soundcard mix output from different programs ?
because on my RH7.3 the porgram who first optain soundcard device lock it and so it is inpossible to get it back unless this porgram exits besides sometimes porgram exits ubnotmally and lock is not released.

2. how to foundout what program acctualy owns (lock) particular device at particular time and how actually find this lock
as I understand this lock sould be somethere in /proc and I think it is not /proc/locks file

Not a soundcard guru, but in my little experience with 3 different soundcards it depends on the soundcard.

My SBLive is the only card that actually allowed multiple programs to use audio at the same time. The other 2 cards both gave me the error screen (all from XMMS checks, no other program check, so again, very little experience). So anyway, hope that helps you a little bit, even though it's not very much info at all, it may be somewhere to start looking.

Oh, and I don't know what "half duplex/full duplex" means, but I think that has something to do with it.
