tv tuner card and ir blaster

was wondering if anyone could hep m in choosing a tv tuner card that would be the easiest to setup on linux? as well as a ir blaster and remote that icud setup to channel surf with? i was thinking useing the Actisys IR-200L ir blaster but would any old universal remote work with it? oh i use digital cable not satelite tv if you needed that info.

I would look at the Hauppauge tuners, like the PVR-150, PVR-250, and PVR-500 (dual tuner).

i was thinking of getting that one but i was reading that its difficult to setup with linux vdr and i heard that the ir input on the hauppauge is tricky to get working.

mm if you cud help me understand this a bit. i was researching digital cable ready tv tuners and came up with a QAM tuner could effectivly acess digital cable without a set top box? is that correct?
