Turning off the system beep?


hey im trying to figure out how to turn off the system beep when i tab-complete and when you backspace too far etc. ive never had this problem before until recently. im using Arch Linux

Distribution: Switched to regualr Ubuntu, because I don't like KDE4, at all. Looks like vista on crack.....

Are you using KDE or another desktop ? If you are using KDE you can change things like this in system settings. It's under sound/multi-media then system notifications, then you'll have to hunt a bit. It's hard to say with the lack of info in your question. More info is always better.

this is something that happens in and out of a GUI but im currently using xfce4. also i tried that code exactly as you put it and it didnt work :\
