Turn the power button into a key press?

Is it possible to have the power button emulate the press of a key? On my media centre I have XBMC running and it doesn't recognise me pressing the power button. If I press S (on the keyboard) the shutdown menu pops up. This would be very helpful.

Thanks

You question isn't too clear. Do you want your power button to work, or do you want it to "pop" your shut down menu?

In either case, check your BIOS settings to see if your BIOS is "pre-empting" your power key actions, and then look under the "General" tab for the "When the power button is pressed" and see what you have set. (Note: I don't use XBMC. But a search of the XBMC WiKi manual for "power button" turned up that suggestion.) :)

I want the key "s" to be issued when I press the power button; I don't want the power button to work in the usual way.

Thanks
