Trying to configure X

I've just recently installed Crux 2.3 along with Xorg. I got Xfce installed and working but then I realized I never configured Xorg so I quit out of Xfce and ran "X -configure" and all I got was a blank screen. Is this supposed to happen? There was nothing I could do so I manually rebooting my computer and then tried to get back into Xfce (and just X) but it would error out and bring me back to the shell.

If I do "startx" I get the error saying it doesn't know the hostname or something. Then it times out a few times and eventually brings me to the shell again...

Any help?

Edit: Dunno if this matters but I have an ATI card...
