trying to change write to /data not enough permissions


On my server I have a folder /data In my samba file I have created

[share1]
path = /data
writeable = yes
read only = no

It shows up but whenever I try to mkdir I am unable insuffeciant privledges

ls -l shows

drwxrwxrwx 2 bruce root 4096 2005-10-18 19:26 data

Any one know how I can fix this?
