Troubles install Mandrake 9.2

Presently I'm trying to install Mandrake behind SuSE9 on the second physical drv: ie...
First drv is WinXP,
Second drv is SuSE9.....the rest of the drv I want Mandrake 9 on....

The install partitions for Mandrake are already set (swap=2GB, /=6GB)

During install, the first problem I see is the 'assumed" system bus speed...33MHZ...
it should be either 100MHZ (at least) or 133MHZ.
During the hardware detection phase it finds my hda, hdb, hdc and hdd but then it reports
that it 'Lost interrupt" on each drv/partition and repeats itself three times for each parition on
each drv.

I finally get past that screen when the machine just stalls and does nothing
(waited 20mins...on a 2.4GHZ box)

The partitions I'm trying to use for Mandrake are near the end of the drv...not sure
if that has anything to do with it...I have defined the '/' parition as primary.

Any thoughts as to what is slowing down/crashing the install?..I went through it twice-same
result both times.

hi !!!

so, maybe this can help you...

put the installation cd, when prompted just do the following ..
with f1 or f2 go to options...
then you should try this:
-
$KERNEL_NAME acpi=no dma=no
-

i think it will work...
Give a feed back, please...

Regards
