trouble with watch-SOLVED

Having a little trouble using watch with a command with a flag

If i do
watch who

it works fine

But i want to watch 'who -q' (just the names)

And I cant figure out how to get that to work correctly...
As far as i can tell
watch `who -q` should work

But it flashes who -q, and then it does this over and over
h: line 1: robert: command not found
(robert is the first username)

any ideas?

EDIT: i should have RTFM first!
i was doing the quote incorrectly, i should have done:
watch 'who -q'
