If there's physical damage to the ethernet socket on your motherboard then either you take it to a repair centre and have the socket physically replaced, or you simply stop using that port and organise a different interface. I wouldn't try repairing it myself because I've had personal experience trying to pull laptops apart! Your's MAY be easy, but some are almost impossible unless you're very familiar with that particular model.
Most Laptops have a couple of PCMCIA slots and you can buy Ethernet interfaces to go in there. Then you can simply disable the motherboard interface and use the new one. Best of luck with it!
