Transferring installed Linux system to another HD

I want to transfer my installed Gentoo system to another harddrive. This new harddrive is 35% bigger than the old one though. Will that give any problems or can I just do this?

My Linux harddisk is split into 3 partitions: /boot, / and swap

Can I just Norton Ghost? Or is there any other/better program to use?

Thanx :)

/bin/bash 01-12-2005 09:07 AM

Partimage will work and it's free. And also rsync will work, or you could also use dd, cp, tar or cpio.

Ok and what will happen to the different partition sizes?

Hmm I'm trying partimage now, but it fails as there are bad blocks on the source disk.

Can I override this?
