timeout not able to be changed on xdm with fluxbox
 

I am having trouble finding out which files to edit in order to change the timeout settings.

I have There is no GUI option to change the power-management or screensaver.

I have a vga monitor plus s-video to a tv. The tv also servers as my speakers.

With timeout set at the default 10 minute mark it makes it to where I am unable to watch movies, listen to music, practice my guitar using Rakarrack.

I have searched to web and have not been able to locate anything helpful with this.

I should also mention that it is a Debian based system installed via Debian net-installer. The goal was to install a lightweight system due to the low ram available of only 1Gig.

Does anyone know what I could do to fix this?

With the searches I have done some of the files that have been mentioned such as x11org.config are not able to be located.

Did you try xset?
For example, typing
to disable the power management and screensaver functions.

I looked to see what it does and am now testing it to see if it does the job. Have about 5 minutes to go before I know if it worked.

Will I have to set every time after a reboot or will it stay off till set different?

Update: It seems to have worked but haven't rebooted to see if it stays.

It won't stay after reboot.
Take a look at this old thread to see how to run the command each time you start X (edit .xinitrc or .xsession).
