tgz


how do i unpack a tgz file
redhat is what im runnin

.tgz is just a .tar.gz file, with a shorter name for some reason, not sure why

run

tar zxvf file.tgz

.tgz is also the extension given to slackware packages, source and precompiled binaries. Might not be a good idea to install one of those on s RH system, won't break it, just probably wont work.
