terminal problem


hi

every time i open my terminal i get the following error:

bash: /dev/null: Permission denied
bash: /dev/null: Permission denied
bash: /dev/null: Permission denied
bash: /dev/null: Permission denied
bash: /dev/null: Permission denied

what might be the problem???

That could be caused by a permissions error on /dev/null. try 'ls -l /dev/null'

ya /dev/null has root permissions ..do I hav to change it to users???

/dev/null should look like
Code:
crw-rw-rw-  1 root root 1, 3 Jul 20 09:35 /dev/null
. Is that how your /dev/null appears? Also, you're not using any sort of chroot, are you?
