Temporarily changing the priority of a single thread


Hi,

In Linux with sched_other policy, is the priority of a single thread (pthread) be temporarily increased so that this thread is more likely to get scheduled and less likely to be switched out?

I'd solve the problem with a sledge hammer called nice.

Or, the googles "nice promote process"
