telecommunication system with linux support/community

Hi all,
I am searching for a new telecommunication system (i don't know, if this is the correct term for: a system for a company, that supports a telephone for every employee, sharing incoming calls between them and so on).
These systems often come with windows drivers that support dialing with ms outlook. Does anyone know such a telephone system, that comes with linux support? Or a system with independent linux community?
Thanks a lot,
Clemente

Perhaps Asterisk fits the bill?

Hi Hangdog,
asterisk is a software solution and would be nice. But I am searching for a hardware box.
Hardware telecommunication central, linux workstations (and servers). And I wonder, if the benefits, telephone system manufacturers grant to windows users, are for us, too...
